Growing up in Melbourne, I’ve experienced these locations in many different ways over the years, as I’m sure most Melburnians and visitors have too.  In addition to the must-do of running your hands along the NGV water wall, whether it’s through exhibitions, events, ceremonies or just playing the backdrop to our daily lives, all of these places have woven themselves into Melbourne’s urban fabric.

Capturing these spaces in a cohesive reel made this project a labour of love.  It gave me the opportunity to revisit some of the most iconic structures in the city with a more critical eye, present them from some unique perspectives and experience them in new ways.

I was lucky enough to see two sunrises at the Shrine of Remembrance after, on the first visit, the sprinklers started directly underneath me.  Thanks to the City of Melbourne, I returned and shot the timelapse; this time without the shower.

Everyone who came up to me throughout the filming process was very friendly and full of smiles, asking questions about photography and the buildings. A very satisfying project and one that I’m proud to have in my portfolio.
